We’ve listened to countless catechists around the diocese who say their greatest need is resources!
The catechist and the catechised are called to listen together to the Holy Spirit through the Word of God and in the study of the Liturgy and doctrines of our Faith. The catechist is graced, called, and blessed to walk with young people and adults in their journey of faith. Through a relationship with Jesus, prayer, study, generosity of heart and knowledge of the people you serve, you as the catechist have what it takes to provide an environment where the Faith can grow.
When it comes to practical material, the first resource is the Holy Bible. Reading and pondering it with the people you serve is the most powerful thing you can do. Click here for methods to help you in this process.
